Panaji, 20 August 2026: Dr. Judith Braganza, Professor, BITS Pilani, Goa Campus, was conferred the Goa Rajya Vidnyanik Puraskar (GRVP) in the Environment Category in recognition of her significant contribution to environmental science, research, and innovation. The award was presented by Hon’ble Minister for Science & Technology, Shri Atanasio Monserrate, in the presence of Shri Jose Manuel Noronha, Chairman, Goa State Innovation Council, and Shri Mohd. Shabir, IAS, Director, Department of Science, Technology & Waste Management. The Goa Rajya Vidnyanik Puraskar, instituted by the Government of Goa through the Department of Science, Technology & Waste Management, recognizes scientists and innovators whose ideas are transformed into impactful solutions with potential for adoption in Goa. The award promotes innovation by leveraging local resources and capabilities and encourages scientists, innovators, young talent, educational institutions, MSMEs, and R&D centres. Dr. Braganza’s recognition highlights Goa’s commitment to advancing scientific research and sustainable environmental solutions.
